Chicken and yard update -- June 10

The chickens spend a lot of their time eating.  They also take dust baths, which are fun to watch.

This chicken, Martha, is a bit more independent than the rest, and you can often find her hanging out alone in the hen house when the others are out and vice versa.  So far as we can tell though, she rules the roost.  

This is the final setup for our raised garden beds.  We opted for this arrangement because the automatic sprinklers do the watering for us, which we realize is sort of cheating.  This is before anything was growing, but we do actually have stuff up now.  It's a little short, but we figure we did alright for the first time.  We have potatoes going, lettuce, spinach, carrots, and a few other things.  Hazel helped plant, and she was more creative than most folks are with where she put stuff, so there are a few surprises.
