We've kept track of Hazel's words since she started talking this spring, and decided to stop writing them all down when we got to 100. She's there! Some she doesn't say much anymore (such as "alright"). There are also a few we've missed. The past few weeks, there are enough new ones that it's hard to remember which ones are written down and which ones are not.
The other day I was helping Hazel get ready for her afternoon nap, and somehow her sippy cup full of milk was dropped in such a fashion that the entire contents was all over the floor in an instant. Emma was super helpful, and came over to start the cleaning process. Hazel spent the next ten minutes saying "uh-oh milk Emma." She is learning more verbs, which hast meant that early versions of sentences are starting to pop out more. For example, one of her favorite activities right now is drawing with crayons. We hear a lot of "draw, draw, draw!" and an occasional "draw _____ ," mostly she wants us to draw a family member and sometimes a bunny.
So, here is the last batch of words to round out the first 100:
basket
snake
chair
thunder
rain
bow (as in ribbon)
mouse
teeth
boy
toy
dance
mirror
seal (the animal)
towel
beads
girl
squirrel
dance
stack
cloud
moon
swing -- this one is super sweet, it sounds like "wee," so we hear a lot of "wee! wee! wee!"
slinky (the toy)
draw
bumblebee
keys
Vivi (Vivian)
ow
paper
diaper
straw (for drinking)
