We decided to move the chicken coop. Which is why we moved the garden. You will notice that there is no chicken coop in this picture:
Now it's on the other side of the yard:
We moved the garden, and put the coop where the garden was. The garden beds are now in a different shape, making a corner in the corner.
We moved it across the yard, and the moving process was fairly straightforward.
We decided to move the coop largely because we have a plan for a chicken tunnel though the hedge. The space between the bushes and the back fence will give the chickens more room to run around and do happy chicken things, and it is not ever going to be used for anything else anyway. They tried out the new chicken run while we were moving the coop.
On a related note--- we keep getting more eggs! The first week we had eggs, there were 6 total. The second week, we had 12. The third week we had 23. They are still pretty small, one commercial egg is not quite twice as big as one of ours.
