Adks # 10: Playing Pirate -- July 5

We took the morning to head into town and check out the playground and the play ship down at the public beach.  The big girls discovered a fire pole in the ship, and learned how to slide down it.  It's a pretty neat play area.

Adks #9: Fireworks Time -- July 4

We found a spot down on the lawn early, it was peaceful.  Ashley and David shared cotton candy and glow sticks with all of the kids, even Jane liked hers!  

If you look carefully, you can see all the boats out in the water waiting for the fireworks.  The fireworks are launched from a barge out in the lake.

Adks #6: Ice Cream -- July 3

We walked into town for ice cream at the Northern Lights ice cream shop.  We've never seen the line this long!  Hazel and Vivian and Nellie waited on a bench while the rest of us stood in line.  It moved pretty quickly, and they had their chocolate custard with rainbow sprinkles before they knew it.

Vivian got a ride back in the stroller.  She was tired, if you can imagine that ;).

Adks #5: Before Supper at the Cabins -- July 3

Uncle David (above) and Jane (below) in David's backpacking hammock chair.  It's amazingly comfortable, and just made from a piece of fabric and then sticks he found in the woods.  Jane approved.

Jane made a lot of friends that week!  The little boy turned out to be not so nice to the other big kids, but he was very gentle with the baby.

Vivian got a stroller ride around the cottages, taking advantage of the fact that the bigger girls liked pushing the stroller around for fun.

Hazel borrowed Nellie's binoculars and went bird watching, and then pretended the binoculars were a camera and took lots of pictures.

Jane also made friends with Aunt Karen and Uncle Dennis.  Karen rescued Jane from some over eager children later in the week, and I was so grateful!  They also took her for a walk into town in the stroller one evening, which was very nice.

Adks #4: Back in the Water -- July 3

Nickoli gave Jane this lovely lobster baby boat before he left for Cody.  He earned points at his tutoring lessons for working hard, and he turned in his points for the lobster boat and a bottle of bubbles for the big girls.  We will miss Nickoli!  Jane liked the lobster.

Vivian was chilly and needed a hug.
