Snow! - October 4

Today was the first real snow.  We got quite a few inches overnight, and Hazel was delighted with the snow when she looked out the window. We got all dressed up after breakfast to go check it out.  Hazel got to try out her snowpants and boots for the first time, and I got to make use of my winter coat that fits the baby carrier inside of it.  Vivian stayed out of the breezes, and was quite content.

We didn't get as far as we usually do on our walk--it's hard to walk in the snow when you're so short!  Here, Hazel sat down for a rest and chatted for a bit.

When we got home, we made hot chocolate with giant marshmallows.  For the record, Hazel's mug was not actually full. It was a fun treat, and we warmed right up.

Homework Time -- October 3

I got help with my homework in the afternoons this week.  Vivian's nap schedule is a little wonky (she slept almost all day one day, and then hasn't hardly napped in the afternoon since then) and she likes to have company.

Tidying? -- October 2

Leaf Peeping -- September 30

We went up to Blair for a leaf-peeping evening.  We were afraid we would miss the leaves, because they can go fast.  Sometimes they don't hardly turn before it snows.

Hazel walked a long ways by herself, and then asked for a ride in the backpack on the way back to the car.  It was getting dark by then, and we hustled back to the car for snacks and milk.

We did manage to catch some of the aspens turning.  There were patches that were quite lovely.

The sunset was something else.  We went out to look at the leaves, but we spent a lot of time looking at the sky!

Relaxing in the Bouncer -- September 28

Vivian isn't the only one who likes the bouncy seat!  Here, Hazel is lounging with a sippy cup of milk and playing with her toes.

Grammy -- September 27

Grammy Frieda has been very generous with her time this semester, and has been coming over on Fridays to help out.  Sometimes she hangs out with the girls while I get school things done, but she also watched Vivi while Hazel and I went swimming one Friday.  It's nice for all of us too see her, whatever the activity for the day might be!  Hazel, of course, likes it when Grammy takes her to the park.  Grammy also helped us out last weekend so that I could get a project finished.

In the Kitchen -- September 26

Vivian was hanging out with us in the kitchen for a bit.  She's looking so much more alert these days when she's awake!  She much prefers to be where she can see and hear someone else, and she gets sad pretty quickly if she's alone for a moment.
