Hazel started Kindergarten this fall!

Last Night at Granny's (Montana Trip 2017 Part IV) -- September 8

Visiting the Horses (Montana Trip 2017 Part IV) -- September 8

Uncle Ned's buggy brought Hazel, Vivian, and Jane over to the river to find the horses.

Hazel and Vivian pet the horses a tiny bit, but they were too nervous to ride them -- this year!

Uncle Ned brought us to see some baby calves too.  Hazel and Vivian were surprised how big they were!  Jane kept her distance.

Climbing Trees and Finding Snail Shells (Montana Trip 2017 Part III) -- September 6

We drove up the road to the Strickland Place to try to find some trees to climb in, because Hazel and Vivian were asking about it.  There are willow trees in the creek bottom that I played in when I was little, with Caity and Eric.  They are a little overgrown now, but Uncle Ned and Grandpa Van were able to help the girls climb around a bit.  I was carrying Caroline in the baby backpack.

After climbing in the trees, we crossed Daisy Dean Creek and walked up the hill.  There were lots of little tiny snail shells to collect.

At Granny's House (Montana Trip 2017 Part II)-- September 6

Uncle Ned and Grandpa Van played in the yard with the girls a lot, playing tag and hide and seek.  They also threw toys for George, the new dog.

Caroline mostly napped, but sometimes she lounged on a blanket too.

New Clyde Park Playground (Montana Trip Part I) -- September 5

We drove up to Wilsall in the Odyssey to meet Grandpa Van and see Uncle Ned and Aunt Cindy.  This was the first time that Caroline met the Zimmermans.  We went to the new playground in Clyde Park with Grandpa Van, and spent all morning there collecting "green peas," little plastic BBs.

Jane's 2nd Birthday Part II -- Setptember 2

We made a giant sandwich for a picnic supper and met Nana and Grandad at Curt Gowdy State Park for supper.

Nana snuggled a little fussbert.

We had cupcakes and put them in the shape of a "J" because we had to bring our cake with us to the park

Jane was reading and walking at the same time.  She loved this Moana Little Golden Book.

Jane's Second Birthday, Part I-- September 2

In the morning we went to the Greenbelt for a nice walk in the sunshine, it was a beautiful day.  Weekend birthdays are the best!

Nellie and Grammy came over around lunchtime with birthday gifts for Jane, and a fun singing birthday card.

Caroline slept through most of it, but she was always close by!
