Visiting with a Friend -- June 20
Our pastor has accepted a call to a congregation in Cody, and we are so sad to see them go! The little girls adore our pastor's 12 year old son, who is just wonderful with all of them. He is especially fond of the baby. We wanted to spend a little time with him before we leave for our trip, because they'll be gone when we get home. We played in the backyard, read books, and made a lot of soup in the play kitchen! It was a lovely morning.
Nickoli very kindly read nap time stories to the girls.
Walking with the Baby -- June 18
Jane likes to hold hands and walk, and her sisters are willing to help her out. They're also about the right height for that job! Jane can go pretty fast if she gets going.
Vivian on the Jungle Gym -- June 18
Vivian can now climb up to the very tippy top of the jungle gym all by herself, and then she flips upsidse down to get off. It's pretty fun to watch, and keeps her busy.
Baby Jane gets her share of time in the backyard in the shade too!
Picnic at Vedauwoo -- June 18
We got all dressed up in long pants and long sleeves expecting bugs, but we mostly avoided them (and were hot). We brought sandwiches and found a shady spot for a picnic.
Baby Jane napped in the backpack.
After lunch, the girls found that the sagebrush next to our picnic spot was crawling with ladybugs, and they enjoyed watching the little bugs wiggle and fly around. We discussed how we do not kill ladybugs, and how they are good for all the plants.
After lunch, we walked back to the car and headed home for nap time.
Talking to Grandpa Van -- June 17
We still talk to Grandpa Van every week on Skype, which sometimes goes very well and sometimes the girls are bouncing off the walls. This afternoon was a good one! Grandpa Van was playing a game with Vivian where he got close and then far from his camera, making him look bigger and smaller.
Splash Pad -- June 17
This was our first trip out to the splash pad for summer 2016. There weren't too many other kids (we went a few days later and I counted 40). Hazel had a good time splashing, and Vivian mostly liked to sit and watch everyone else. But then, that's what I do, too!
